Our project

Welcome to the CodChange project website!

CodChange is a 4-year research project owned by the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research and funded by the Research Council of Norway. Our partners are the University of Oslo, the University of Bergen, The Spanish National Research Council, the University of California-Berkeley and the University of California-Davis.

In CodChange, we will determine how fishing of Atlantic cod impacts coastal environments from an eco-evolutionary perspective. By applying advanced modelling tools to empirical data from long-term scientific surveys, we will achieve a better understanding of individual, population and community-level processes, allowing for a better forecasting of the biological responses to changes in harvest. The eco-evolutionary knowledge and predictions that will be obtained in this project will benefit both the sustainability of cod fisheries and the conservation of biodiversity in the coastal zone.
